Dreams

A dream is a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. The content and function of dreams are not fully understood, although they have been a topic of scientific, philosophical and religious interest throughout recorded history.

I've always been very curious when it comes to Dreams. I've personally always felt that they all mean something. If I need closure on something that I haven gotten that I tend to think of excessively, for some reason I always hope to get some form of answer to this in my dreams. When those moments haven't come, my mind seems to push itself into a holding pattern on said issue. Then when I miraculously have a dream about it I automatically think that's the correct answer I needed. Its typically the conclusion my mind already made up in my head for peace on this issue.  Of course we have no way of knowing if that's a factual answer to the question. For all we know that dream is what we conjured up ourselves and not an answer gotten from an unknown all seeing entity. Dreams are tricky that way, in my opinion.

Some people go further and seek out researching people or books to assist them in interpreting their dreams. Some religions look down on palm readers and psychics as it relates to your future and anything dealing with anyone besides God knowing what the future holds. Anything else is considered blasphemous.

Mediums or Prophets on the other hand, in some cases gain their insight from the dead or from God. I've always wanted to sit down with one or the other and pick their brain. I definitely think that will happen as soon as I find one creditable.

Sigmund Freud stated in his book; The Interpretation of Dreams- Dreams don't actually men anything. Instead they're merely electrical brain impulses that pull random thoughts and imagery from our memories.

This is why Freud studied dreams to understand your subconscious mind. Therefore according to Freud your dreams, reveal your repressed wishes to you.

To me of course I still have to sneak my thought in and say they are still up for interpretation in my mind as I think God also reveals things to you that may come in the form of a dream at times. So Im leery of just pushing every dream I have aside and to say they are only repressed wishes when some have been deeper than that and on levels that I never thought of myself. Or it could have just been a fever dream from the spaghetti I ate 2 hours before bed?!............ Hmmmm...

The mind is one of the most incredible muscles in the body. It actually grows when you learn something new. I'm fascinated by all the many ways it works for different people and in what way they choose to exercise it. Those that think a lot sometimes want to stop as it can become draining and arbitrary in their bigger scheme of things. That's if the thoughts are demeaning or have a negative outlook of the world in general and on things in their personal lives. Wanting to sometimes dumb things down. When you truly think about it like that, you truly are doing yourself a disservice. What if you become stuck in that thought pattern of wanting "nothingness" and for things to go quiet up there..  No longer wanting to engage in your higher self at all. You are just good thinking the least and ultimately isn't that what you will become?

Im sure we all sometimes want that "quiet" mentally at times. I just think you have to be careful to what level you are asking for.. Meditation could be used there to mentally have quiet and peace for however many minutes or hours you choose to give yourself. Quiet time is definitely needed. In Kindergarten we had nap time. What happened to naps! We still need that shut off time during the day and it doesn't always have to be compromised of sleeping.
